Business analysis consists of identifying business needs and determining solutions to business problems. It involves enabling changes in an organizational context, by reviewing needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.

Through operational effectiveness,  business analysis also aims at optimising the use of any resources in general terms (products, systems, people, processes) with a view to reduce time to market, reduce costs, risks, manual intervention and maximise client satisfaction and obviously, revenue

The most common reviews conducted by MTM Partners are centered around Processes and Resource management, and generally extended by nature to Systems.

  • Process Management: processes are key in any type of organisation. They support risk management, harmonise ways of working, ensure the highest level of consistency, and have many more benefits. Processes need to be thoroughly balanced in order to avoid to defeat their initial purpose. They must remain simple and justified. They will only serve their purpose if they are accompanied by change management activities such as training, job shadowing, coaching and constant monitoring. A regular review of processes will contribute to a healthy environment.
  • Resource management: we see too many times organisations promoting experts to team manager; while a promotion may be well deserved there are too many occasions where the expert in one field may not be fit for a team management role. In these situations not only are we losing a good performing expert but we are also losing an opportunity to allocate a good team manager. Let’s focus on skills assessment through an objective competency matrix and assess the best options to increase your effectiveness.
